There are many grandmothers known as ‘Mrs Christmas’ hoping to bring joy to the seasonal festivities, with a twinkle in their eye. Emma brings her to us, a face made round with many a wry smile as she lifts a toast, the great matriarch of the table, for one and all amidst a flurry of port, gift wrapping, and mince pies. Her rosy cheeks are almost as red as her hat and coat trimmed with white fur.
